Blood counts

We are doing fine. We expected Logan's blood counts to be up this week but his ANC (absolute neutrophil count) was 550. (Last week it was only 150). 1000 and lower is considered neutropenic. This is his week off of any chemotherapy so we expect his counts to rise up just in time for his cisplatin dose next Thursday.

We had a little scare last week because his hemoglobin was getting pretty low around 8. They were talking transfusion (if it got to 7). But, praise God!, it came back up. I have been faithful in giving Logan his liquid B-vitamins, vitamin C, and E. I crumble up his multivitamin in applesauce; but, unfortunately more times than not, it causes him to throw up. E also causes him to make a gag, but he usually keeps it down.

Logan has an MRI scheduled for next Tuesday (July 20th). It is a complete brain and spine with contrast which means it is a two hour procedure, but in reality, it could easily take 6 hours.
