Blood transfusion

Hello. We left out one piece of important information in the last update for Logan. After Logan's Bone Marrow Harvest (BMH) and Hickman catheter surgery on this Tuesday (October 12, 1999), his surgeon said that it is highly possible that he will need a blood transfusion due to a low Hemoglobin. Right now his hemoglobin is at 10 (units unknown) and the surgeon who is performing the BMH expects it will go down to 8 after the BMH; which would require the transfusion. [We were not given enough notice to get directed blood from a relative (all or most of the Gaskins' clan have the O positive blood he needs) so we would have to use donor blood.] But, I did ask the surgeon if I could give him two multivitamins with IRON per day to increase Hemoglobin levels and he said it wouldn't hurt.

Prayer request: we really need your prayers that Logan's hemoglobin will be high enough on Tuesday so he won't need a blood transfusion!!!!!!

Also, it is looking like his pre-bone marrow 'conditioning chemotherapy' will start on October 25th or 26th lasting 3-4 days inpatient.

Logan had a real nice 3rd birthday celebration with family today and enjoyed a 'date' night with us, his parents, at the Steve Green concert last night. We left Adam at home with his Aunt Carla.

All things are possible with God (Matthew 19:26 and Mark 10:27)!
