Fever

Laura noticed that Logan was running a fever (~102) early this afternoon, so she called Duke, since we're supposed to bring him in if his temperature goes over 101. By the time we were ready to go, his fever had gone up to 104. Fortunately, it didn't get any higher than that.

They are giving him antibiotics intravenously, on the assumption that he has a bacterial infection. They took four different blood samples (one from his infusaport, one each from the two lines on his Hickman catheter, and one from his arm as a baseline), to do cultures and try to determine if there is an infection in one of his access lines. It takes 48 hours to do a culture, so Logan will be there at least through Tuesday. Laura will be spending the night with him.

Logan's blood counts are very low from the chemo last week, so we're praying especially for his protection. Also, Laura probably won't be getting much rest, so I am praying for her strength. Sorry if all this is coming across as dry and factual. I think it's just the way I feel right now. Thanks for praying.

Scripture boost!

"We walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7). Thank you, Lord, for your Word.
