Jesus Christ is Lord!

It's been a while since we've updated. Things have been peaceful and quiet since we got home on Saturday. We don't have much scheduled for this week. The next major event will be an MRI on Wednesday, November 10, which will show if the latest chemo had any effect.

I wanted to share a praise from a couple nights ago. It might not seem like much, but it meant a lot to me.

When Logan was still learning his first words, someone (I don't know who) taught him to say "Jesus" when he saw a cross. The first time I noticed it was when he found a magnet cross that fell off our refrigerator. He brought it to me and said, "Jesus." I was surprised and pleased, so I affirmed, "Yes. Jesus."

Pretty soon, he was seeing "Jesus" everywhere. The linoleum on our kitchen floor is all squares, so there are hundreds of crosses there. The space in between our cabinet doors/drawers makes a cross. When we were out driving, he would routinely remind us of every church we passed with a cross outside. It started to be a game, whenever Logan would say, "Jesus," we would all look around to try to find where he saw a cross.

One place in particular stumped us for a few weeks. After picking up doughnuts at the Krispy Kreme drive-through on Walnut Street in Cary, while waiting to get back onto Walnut, he was very consistent about saying, "Jesus." Each time we looked and couldn't find what he was looking at. Finally we noticed: a fire hydrant!

As he got older, I started to worry that people who overheard Logan might think that he was being irreverent, or taking our Lord's name in vain. So we changed it a little, so that everytime we saw a cross, we would point and exclaim, "Jesus Christ is Lord!" Logan caught on very quickly.

Anyway, this story is getting longer all the time. I was thinking just the other night that it has been a long time since Logan has pointed out a cross to us. Logan has never been especially expressive, but since all the hospital stuff started, he has become even more reserved. Well, you can guess the end of this story. Monday night we were out driving, and as we passed Macedonia Baptist Church on Holly Springs Road, with the big cross lit up on the front of the building, Logan said, "Jesus Christ is Lord!" Music to my ears! I haven't heard that in I don't know how long. He hasn't forgetten after all! What a simple little thing, and yet it made my whole day.

Thanks for listening.

Love in Christ,

Knocker
